Documentary Wedding Photography, what is it?

Being a documentary wedding photographer is first and foremost about capturing every aspect of your wedding day and providing a set of images that tell the whole story from start to finish.

It is a photographic style, of which I am all about, that is unobtrusive. Being able to feel relaxed and confident on your wedding day is of paramount importance to me. You and your guests need to remember the photographer by the images that he produces.

As you have put in so much time and planning in to your special day I insure that every angle and small detail is covered from table plans to buttonholes, flowers to gifts and everything in between. Please continue to read on and hopefully some of my top tips will help you in your search for the right wedding photographer for you.

Top Tips for Wedding photography

When looking for the perfect match in a photographer for your wedding day there are many things to consider, price, style, talent, ability and price. The reason I have put price twice is because it is always the main subject of matter when looking for a photographer. Below are just some tips that should be considered and hopefully will get you thinking more about what you want and need rather than the cost:

~      Chose a photographer who has taken images that look and give you the feeling of “that’s what I want my photos to look like”.

~      Try and look for the style you want from your photographer and don’t be lead by price. Everyone has different budgets but it is important to find the right photographer and then you can narrow it down to a price range that suits your budget.

~      Remember most good photographers will offer payment plans and/or gift vouchers, which can be added to your gift list as wedding gifts to get you your perfect album, or framed pictures.

~      If photography is important to you then make sure that you plan your time and allow some extra for those personal shots of the happy couple as well as those all important group shots.

~      Make sure you spend some time pre-wedding with your photographer, this helps you to get acquainted and feel more relaxed in each others company, this always comes through in the pictures. A meeting at your wedding venue is always a good idea as you can discuss fine points and walk around the venue together.

~      Delegation is key. Things that are out of your control, don’t worry about them, if you delegate your wedding party to help with photography them you day will be so much easier. Your photographer will help you with this.

Hope this helps you make the right decision and if you think I am that then
